Editorial policy

How FaceSearch Wiki sources, writes, reviews and corrects entries, what it refuses to publish, and how its publisher's product is handled.

Sourced and dated

  • Every factual claim has a source in the entry's source list, with the date it was checked.
  • Prices, free tiers and opt-out procedures are quoted from the vendor's own pages and dated.
  • Numbers come from the original report (NIST, FTC, IC3, a regulator, a court), never from a secondary summary when the original is available.

Neutral voice

  • No rankings, no "best", no adjectives about quality.
  • Every engine is described in the same fields. FaceSearch, made by this wiki's publisher, gets no special treatment and no extra links.
  • Contested or pending matters are labelled as such with the date.

Review cadence

  • Engines and directories: every 90 days.
  • Laws and cases: when something happens, and at least once a year.
  • Terms and concepts: once a year.
  • Each entry shows its last review date.

What we do not publish

  • Anything that identifies a private individual, including screenshots of search results showing real people.
  • Instructions whose only purpose is to find or track a person.
  • Accuracy claims for any engine, including FaceSearch, without a published test to cite.
  • Copied text from other sites.

Corrections

  • Report an error from any page. We acknowledge within five business days.
  • Corrections that change a fact are logged in the changelog with the date.
  • Legal entries are summaries, not legal advice. For a decision that matters, read the source or ask a lawyer.
